Attorneys
At Balch & Bingham we have a congenial firm culture attributed to our attorneys who come from many different backgrounds. We offer a rare combination of sophisticated and challenging work with a small firm atmosphere.
Our attorneys are graduates of the nation’s finest law schools including Alabama, Chicago, Duke, Emory, Florida, George Washington, Georgetown, Georgia, Harvard, Mississippi, NYU, Notre Dame, Texas, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Washington & Lee. In addition several of the Firm’s attorneys have Master’s in Taxation from Alabama, NYU and the University of Florida. Although not rigid in structure, the firm recognizes the need for substantive practice groups. Each area is administered by a partner who exercises general responsibility for the assignment and completion of work and client relations within a particular section. Partners and associates can be members of more than one practice group.
Although the firm ordinarily meets its demand for new associates from its summer associate program, we occasionally employ highly qualified lawyers who desire lateral transfers from other firms or the government, as well as judicial clerks and outstanding third-year law students who previously have not worked as summer associates.
WORK/LIFE STATEMENT
One of our Firm's strengths is its diverse and deeply talented group of attorneys. As a Firm, we are committed to recruiting, maintianing, and promoting our diversity and talent. A key way for us to demonstrate our commitment is to recognize that our attorneys have interests and responsibilities outside the Firm which may affect our attorneys' work schedules.
Alternative work arrangement schedules may be individually tailored and are designed to meet the needs of the attorney, Firm, and its clients. An alternative work schedule will not be a barrier to consideration for partnership. The same criteria for partnership will be applied to all lawyers under consideration for partnership, whether or not they have worked or are working on an alternative work arrangement.
