Chris Carron is an Associate in the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources section and Real Estate section. His practice covers a wide variety of environmental, administrative, and regulatory issues, including litigating cases under federal and state environmental statutes and representing clients before federal and state agencies. Chris counsels and represents clients on various permitting and compliance issues under the federal Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). He also counsels clients regarding Natural Resource Damages (NRD) claims under the CERCLA and the federal Oil Pollution Act.
Chris has represented clients before the Environmental Protection Agency on CERCLA and RCRA enforcement actions and before the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) on Clean Air Act permitting and compliance matters. He is currently serving as outside counsel to MDEQ for the State of Mississippi’s Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) action resulting from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to his environmental practice, Chris specializes in representing both landlords and tenants in the preparation and negotiation of retail, office and industrial leases and subleases. His real estate practice includes the representation of commercial real estate developers and investors in the acquisition, financing, development and leasing of commercial office, retail and industrial properties.
