Daniel Harrell is an Associate in the Birmingham office and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment and Business Litigation sections. His labor and employment experience includes labor disputes and arbitrations, Title VII actions involving race, gender and color discrimination, Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions, ERISA actions and other general labor and employment matters. Mr. Harrell’s business litigation experience includes insurance coverage dispute litigation, commercial fraud litigation and appellate matters. He is a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Dispute Litigation and Appellate Focus Teams.

Mr. Harrell received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and graduated magna cum laude from Cumberland School of Law. In law school, Daniel was a member of the editorial board of the Cumberland Law Review. He was also selected by the Cumberland faculty as a member of Curia Honoris, Cumberland’s academic honor society.

Prior Employment

  • Prior to joining Balch & Bingham, Mr. Harrell clerked for the Honorable W. Harold Albritton, III, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Alabama.
  • Prior to law school, Daniel spent several years as a financial analyst with BB&T in Atlanta and Compass Bank in Birmingham.
