Millie Ronnlund is an Associate in the Birmingham office and a member of the Nuclear Energy, Energy, and Energy Litigation sections.  Millie has experience in administrative litigation before a variety of federal agencies, including her work for the nuclear operating company in contested Early Site Permit and Combined Operating License proceedings before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  She has also worked with other members of the Firm’s Energy Litigation group representing clients in complex litigation arising out of the Western Energy Crisis before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  

 

Millie also has experience in the context of contract administration and contract performance disputes, including change orders, force majeure declarations, and change in law/governmental imposition declarations.  In particular, her contract experience includes the engineering, procurement and construction contract for commercial nuclear units currently under construction and has advised clients regarding the effect of new regulations applicable to underground mining on coal supply contracts. 

 

Millie’s practice also includes related work with clients on regulatory and compliance issues, including Nuclear Regulatory Commission security and construction regulations and representing nuclear plant owners and operators on nuclear regulatory compliance including authorization for the international exchange of nuclear information from the Department of Energy, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements regarding Open Access Transmission Tariffs, and license compliance, joint use, and shoreline management for hydroelectric facilities.
