James “Dart” Meadows, partner and member of the firm’s Litigation Section, Lorna Norton, counsel and member of the firm’s Litigation Section, and James Hollis, partner and chair of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group, were published in the Jan. 6, 2014 issue of the DRI ACMIE Newsletter. Their article, “Admissibility in Product Liability Cases of Data Published by the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s National Electronic Injury Surveillance System,” was one of the featured articles. They make a conclusion that evidence of injuries involving consumer products that is gathered by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and published in its National Electronic Injury Surveillance System database should not be admitted into evidence in product liability cases.
