Richard E. Glaze, Jr., Authored Article for American Infrastructure Magazine Regarding EPA Targeting Sewer System Overflows

Richard E. Glaze, Jr., partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and member of the Environmental & Natural Resources Section, authored an article for American Infrastructure magazine’s winter issue regarding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) targeting municipalities with overflowing sewer systems. Mr. Glaze discussed why EPA is targeting sewer system overflows, challenges faced by a sewer system operator targeted by EPA and how to agree on settlement terms that satisfy EPA’s rehabilitation requirements without imposing undue burdens on ratepayers. Mr. Glaze also explained the need for a team approach for negotiating and settling a substantial sewer enforcement matters.
