Marcus R. Chatterton and Michael P. Taunton Authored Article for the American Bar Association’s Litigation Journal Regarding Implications of Hayuk v. Starbucks

Marcus R. Chatterton and Michael P. Taunton, both attorneys in the firm’s Birmingham, Ala., office and members of the Litigation Section, authored an article for the American Bar Association’s Litigation Journal on Feb. 10, 2016, regarding the implications that the Hayuk v. Starbucks Corp. ruling will have on copyright law. In the article, Mr. Chatterton and Mr. Taunton discuss the case, which largely affects artists whose works are composed of predominantly unprotected elements as artists’ styles and ideas are not protected by copyright law.
