Christopher Friedman Served as Panelist at Second Annual Alabama Municipal Court Summit

Christopher Friedman, attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Section, served as a panelist at the Second Annual Alabama Municipal Court Summit on Aug. 18, 2016. The panel discussed proper responses to non-party discovery subpoenas received by municipal courts and other local government entities, the role of court clerks, magistrates, city attorneys, and other government officials in responding to subpoenas, and the effect of the 2015 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure on how local government entities should respond to subpoenas and other discovery requests.

The two-day Continuing Legal Education (CLE) summit brought together judges, city attorneys, magistrates, court clerks, and other local judicial officials to discuss current issues facing Alabama Municipal Courts.
