Balch & Bingham Nominated for Chambers USA Awards for Excellence in Energy

Balch & Bingham’s nationally recognized Energy Team has been nominated for the Chambers USA 2017 Awards for Excellence in the category of Energy/Projects: Power including Renewables. Balch is one of seven law firms nationwide that has been shortlisted for this award.

The awards are based on research compiled for the 2017 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Nominations reflect a law firm’s pre-eminence in key practice areas, as well as notable achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

Balch is recognized as a leader in the energy industry, and its attorneys are nationally known for their representation of clients in the acquisition of generation companies and assets, as well as all aspects of project development, including licensing, procurement, construction, and financing. Balch represents clients across an array of generation technologies, including fossil, nuclear power, solar, wind, biomass, hydroelectric, and battery storage facilities. In addition, our attorneys include some of the industry's leading practitioners before state public utility commissions, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Balch continues to actively participate in industry initiatives, including through the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), including leadership in NEI’s ITAAC and new nuclear licensing initiatives, as well as the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). The firm serves energy industry participants, including independent power producers and investment funds, throughout the U.S.

The Energy Practice has achieved a nationwide ranking by Chambers USA, and statewide Chambers USA rankings in Georgia and Mississippi.

The award winners will be announced at the Chambers USA Awards Ceremony and Dinner at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Thursday, May 25, 2017.
