About John
Q&A
  • What types of clients do you represent?

My clients include all of the players in public finance. Most of my work is transactional in nature. I often serve as bond counsel, particularly on healthcare and higher education financings.  A good portion of my time is spent as underwriter’s counsel, not just in the Southeast, but nationally. In some transactions I will represent a different participant, such as a trustee or lender. I enjoy serving in a variety of roles, which our firm believes gives the lawyer a better perspective of what is important in a deal. In addition to traditional bond work, I also practice in the area of financial derivatives, where I represent swap market makers and end users of derivative products.

  • How are you involved in your community?
  • What do you see on the horizon in your area of practice?
  • What legal challenges are you looking forward to tackling in the future?
