FRCC System Disturbance and Underfrequency Load Shedding Event 2/26/2008

On October 30, 2008, the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC) Event Analysis Team released its final report on the February 26, 2008 system disturbance within the FRCC region. The report explains that, based on the FRCC Event Analysis Team’s analysis, the system disturbance was initiated by a delayed clearing of a three-phase transmission system fault that developed on a 138 kV switch located at one of Florida Power & Light’s (FPL) Miami area substations.
