NERC Submits Proposed Interpretations of Requirements in two Reliability Standards

On March 5, 2009 NERC submitted interpretations of certain requirements in two reliability standards to FERC for approval.  Specifically, NERC submitted an interpretation of Requirement R11 in Reliability Standard TOP-002-2, Normal Operations Planning, which concerns the performance and utilization of seasonal, next-day, and current-day studies to determine System Operation Limits (SOLs).  In addition, NERC submitted its interpretation of the requirements in Reliability Standard VAR-002-1a, Generator Operation for Maintaining Network Voltage Schedules, which concerns the provision of reactive and voltage control necessary to ensure voltage levels, reactive flows and reactive resources are maintained within applicable facility ratings.  To view NERC’s interpretation concerning TOP-002-2, click here.  To view NERC’s interpretation concerning VAR-002-1a, click here.
