NERC Issues Guidance Bulletin on Extension of Self-Certification Deadlines

On May 19, 2009, NERC issued compliance process bulletin that provides guidance concerning the ability of Regional Entities to extend the due dates for self-certifications. Generally, NERC states that self-certification due dates are considered fixed and may only be changed by a Regional Entity under certain listed circumstances (i.e., extension of the deadline is required due to circumstances beyond the Regional Entity’s control and such extension will not unduly favor or discriminate against a Registered Entity).
