NERC Submits Revised VSLs for Version Two FAC Reliability Standards

On May 29, 2009, in compliance with Order No. 722, NERC submitted modifications to the Violation Severity Levels (VSLs) for the following Facilities Design, Connections, and Maintenance (FAC) Reliability Standards: FAC-010-2, System Operating Limits Methodology for Planning Horizon; FAC-001-2, System Operating Limits Methodology for the Operations Horizon; and, FAC-014-2, Establish and Communicate System Operating Limits.  NERC explains that the revised VSLs were approved by the NERC BOT at its May 6, 2009 meeting.
In conjunction with this filing, NERC also submitted a motion for a forty-five day extension of time to submit modifications to the Violation Risk Factors (VRFs) of these same FAC Reliability Standards for the WECC Region, which the Commission also ordered in Order No. 722.  NERC states that such an extension will allow the WECC Board of Directors and NERC BOT sufficient time to consider the modifications addressing the WECC regional differences.
