NERC Seeks Extension of Time to Submit VSL Compliance Filing

On September 14, 2009, NERC submitted a motion to FERC seeking an extension from September 18, 2009, to March 1, 2010 to allow it to submit a compliance filing containing NERC’s evaluation of assigned Violation Severity Levels (VSLs).  NERC explains that, although it and industry stakeholders have expended considerable efforts on the VSL compliance filing, post-ballot issues have arising relating to the analysis of the VSLs using FERC’s guidelines.  In light of these issues, NERC states that additional review and revisions may be necessary prior to approval by the NERC BOT and submission to FERC of the VSL compliance filing.  To view NERC’s motion, click here.
