FERC Commences NERC Financial Performance Audit

On August 22, 2011, in Docket No. FA11-21, FERC’s Office of Enforcement announced that it is commencing a financial performance audit that will “evaluate NERC’s budget formulation, administration, and execution.”  FERC states that “[t]his economy and efficiency audit will focus on the costs and resources used to achieve program objectives” and will cover the period from August 23, 2006 to the present.  FERC ordered NERC to preserve all documents and communications used in preparation of responses to data requests and related to any service provided on behalf of or for the benefit of NERC, including all communications, transactions, agreements, or arrangements between NERC and any regional entities, or involving any director, officer, manager, or other employee of regional entities.  To view the audit announcement, click here.
