NERC Submits Petition for Approval of FAC-003-2 Regarding Vegetation Management

On December 21, 2011, NERC submitted a petition for FERC approval of Reliability Standard FAC-003-2 (Transmission Vegetation Management) and the associated implementation plan, Violations Risk Factors (VRFs) and Violation Severity Levels (VSLs). In addition, NERC sought approval of proposed definitions for the following terms to be added to the NERC glossary: “Right-of-Way”, “Vegetation Inspection”, and “Minimum Vegetation Clearance Distance (‘MVCD’)”. Accordingly, NERC concurrently sought approval of the retirement of Reliability Standard FAC-003-1 and the currently effective definitions for “Right-of-Way” and Vegetation Inspection”.  To view NERC’s petition, click here.
