NERC Files Petition for Approval of Proposed CIP Reliability Standards

On January 31, 2013, in Docket No. RM13-5, NERC submitted a petition for approval of ten proposed Critical Infrastructure Protection (“CIP”) Reliability Standards (“CIP Version 5”). NERC also requests approval of the proposed definitions of terms used in the proposed CIP Version 5, the associated implementation plan, and the proposed Violation Risk Factors (“VRFs”) and Violation Severity Levels (“VSLs”).
