On May 13, 2014, in Docket No. RD14-9, FERC issued a letter order accepting regional Reliability Standard IRO-006-WECC-2 and its associated implementation plan, violation severity levels and violation risk factors. The letter also approves a modification to the regional definition of “Relief Requirement.” FERC noted that the order will improve reliability in the Western Interconnection by mitigating transmission overloads due to unscheduled flow on Qualified Transfer Paths.
