On July 17, 2014, in Docket No. RM13-16, FERC issued a final rule approving the Reliability Standards PRC-025-1 (Generator Relay Loadability) and PRC-023-3 (Transmission Relay Loadability). Reliability Standard PRC-025-1 was developed in response to certain Commission directives issued in Order No. 733 and will enhance reliability by imposing mandatory requirements governing relay loadability, thereby reducing the likelihood of premature or unnecessary tripping of generators during system disturbances. Reliability Standard PRC-023-3 revises a currently-effective standard pertaining to transmission relay loadability.
