NERC Submits Motion to Intervene in MISO, WEPCO Proceeding before FERC

NERC submitted a motion to intervene in FERC Docket No. EL14-103 concerning the complaint filed by Tilden Mining Company and Empire Iron Mining Partnership against Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Wisconsin Electric Power Company (WEPCO).  The complaint, which was filed with the Commission on September 19, 2014, challenges WEPCO’s proposal to create a new Michigan Upper Peninsula Balancing Authority.  NERC previously certified WEPCO’s proposal, and requests intervention to clarify the scope of its review process.
