- Filter By Nuclear Update Blog
The NRC is issuing draft regulatory guide DG-8054, “Applications of Bioassay for Uranium.” DG-8054 is a proposed revision to regulatory guide RG 8.11, which provides guidance on the development and implementation of a bioassay program to monitor the intake and retention of uranium isotopes by occupational workers. The updates in DG-8054 reflect changes to NRC regulations and relevant health standards. If finalized, DG-8054 will apply to current and future holders of special nuclear material licenses under 10 CFR Part 70, and certificates of compliance or approvals of a compliance plan for gaseous diffusion plants under 10 CFR Part 76, if they are also special nuclear materials licensees or applicants. Comments are due by December 5, 2014.
