NRC Sets Fee Recovery Schedules for FY 2015

The NRC has published a final rule amending its licensing, inspection, and annual fees charged to applicants and licensees for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015.  In compliance with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990, the NRC has set its fee schedules under 10 CFR Parts 170 (user charges) and 171 (annual fees) in order to recover approximately 90 percent of its budget authority.  The FY 2015 fees are based on the $1.015 billion in appropriations authorized by the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act that was signed by the President in December 2014.  The total amount intended to be recovered through fees is $888 million—after adjustments from prior years.  This amount represents a decrease of $30 million from the FY 2014 fee recoverable budget.  The rule takes effect on August 31, 2015.
