Balch & Bingham LLP today announced that Jeff York has joined the firm’s Litigation Section as a partner in the Jacksonville, Fla., office. Mr. York’s more than 20 years of litigation experience representing Fortune 500 companies and other corporate clients across various industries in the Jacksonville area position him well to bolster the growth of the firm’s Jacksonville office.

Mr. York’s practice includes general business litigation, financial services litigation, real property litigation including lease, title and easement disputes and foreclosure and receivership proceedings, intellectual property litigation, franchise litigation, state and local government litigation, appellate litigation and class actions. His experience also includes advising on commercial litigation matters for numerous national and regional banks, financial institutions and other financial services companies in Florida and other states. He has successfully argued cases in all five Florida District Courts of Appeal, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. York has considerable experience handling a range of commercial disputes in arbitration with the American Arbitration Association, JAMS/Endispute and other private arbitration systems. He has been counsel of record in several published court opinions in Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin and California, which compelled various commercial matters to arbitration. He has also successfully acquired preliminary injunctions in Florida federal and state forums for several corporate clients.

Mr. York joins Balch after serving more than 13 years as a partner with a national law firm and after spending the first 7 years of his legal career as an attorney with Mahoney Adams & Criser, PA, one of Florida’s oldest law firms that served as then-principal outside counsel to Barnett Banks, Inc.
Mr. York received his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia and is a member of the American Bar Association, as well as the Jacksonville Bar Association.
