Christopher Heinss, partner in the firm’s Birmingham, Ala., office and member of the Litigation Section, was quoted in a Law360 article, “Military Cleaning Contractor Beats False Claims Case,” on March 20, 2015, regarding an Alabama federal jury finding in favor of Balch client Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc., in a False Claims Act suit brought by a former employee accusing the military cleaning contractor of overbilling a U.S. Army depot for cleaning solvent. Mr. Heinss stated that the jury found no evidence that Safety-Kleen submitted false claims to the government and that Safety-Kleen’s reputation is vindicated. In addition to Mr. Heinss, Safety-Kleen was represented by Richard E. Glaze Jr., partner in Balch’s Atlanta office and member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Section, and Ginny B. Willcox, attorney in the firm’s Birmingham, Ala., office and member of the Litigation Section.
