Pate, partner in the firm's Montgomery, Ala., office and member of the Labor & Employment Section, was quoted by Human Resource Executive on Nov. 2, 2015, regarding compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations concerning mental health in the workplace, specifically related to a recent case involving an employee's request for accommodation related to anxiety. Mrs. Pate discussed the importance of training regarding when managers should identify a situation and engage human resources (HR) professionals. She also discussed the interactive process of addressing a mental health restriction and arriving at an appropriate accommodation for the employee.
