Gregory C. Cook and Jonathan P. Hoffmann Authored Article for Law360 Regarding TRID Compliance and Litigation

Gregory C. Cook, partner in the firm’s Birmingham, Ala., office and chair of the Financial Services Litigation Practice and Jonathan P. Hoffmann, associate in the firm’s Birmingham, Ala., office and member of the Creditors Rights & Bankruptcy Practice Group, authored an article for Law360’s Expert Analysis section on June 10, 2016, regarding the impact of TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) on mortgage-related litigation. TRID was implemented in 2015 and integrates portions of the Truth in Lending Act and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act regulating mortgage origination. Mr. Cook and Mr. Hoffmann explored the impact of TRID from a litigator’s perspective and discussed strategies to address the high volume of litigation likely to result from disclosure violations.
