Balch & Bingham Represents Vistra Energy in Acquisition of Texas Solar Generation Project
Balch & Bingham LLP recently represented Vistra Energy in the acquisition of the Upton County Solar 2 generation project, which will be one of the largest solar power plants in Texas upon its completion in 2018. The project is expected to produce 180 megawatts of electric power, which is enough electricity to serve approximately 56,700 homes during normal weather conditions. In connection with the project acquisition, the firm advised Vistra Energy in the preparation and negotiation of a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract and a long term operation and maintenance agreement for the project.
Chris Still and Jesse Unkenholz, attorneys in the firm’s Birmingham office and members of the Energy Practice, led a multi-disciplinary team of Balch attorneys across the firm’s Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources, Real Estate and Corporate Practices to advise Vistra Energy throughout all phases of the transaction.
