Balch Sports attorneys Russ Campbell and Patrick Strong shared insights into sports law and NCAA compliance at the “A Ball Park Overview: The Field of Sports Law” Symposium, hosted by Cumberland Law Review and the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, on October 13, 2017. The symposium was held at Regions Field in Birmingham, and was attended by attorneys, law students and professionals involved in Alabama’s sports law industry.
At the event, Patrick gave an extensive overview on sports law and discussed the differences between the traditional and non-traditional roles of sports agents, as well as the role of the courts in resolving sports conflicts. Russ moderated a panel on NCAA compliance, which examined the differences and similarities between civil litigation and NCAA compliance, the NCAA process and the responsibilities of head coaches.
