Dave Boyd, Greg Cook and Ed Haden to Serve on Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committees

Balch & Bingham congratulates three of its attorneys who will serve on an Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committee for the upcoming term. 

  • Dave Boyd, partner in the firm’s Birmingham and Montgomery offices and member of the Litigation Practice, was reappointed co-chair of the Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, of which he is a long-standing member. Dave’s diverse litigation practice has included representation of some of the country’s largest companies in complex, high-stakes disputes both at trial and on appeal.
  • Greg Cook, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Banking & Financial Services Litigation Practice, was reappointed to the Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure. Greg’s practice centers on financial services and commercial litigation, including class action and complex litigation. He is recognized as one of the most experienced class action defense lawyers in the Southeast, having defended over 60 class actions.
  • Ed Haden, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Appellate Practice, will continue his role as chair of the Alabama Supreme Court Standing Committee on Appellate Rules. Ed specializes in knowing the written and unwritten practices, procedures, and trends of the Alabama appellate courts that are necessary to obtain a decision on the merits. He is the author of the Alabama Appellate Practice (LexisNexis 2017).
