Balch attorneys from the firm’s Litigation and Appellate Practices presented at the Alabama League of Municipalities Fall Law Conference on September 21 – 23, 2017, in Orange Beach, Alabama. Drawing from varied experience representing municipalities across the state of Alabama, the attorneys presented on topics including cases challenging municipal court practices, federal appellate cases about municipal court practices, and eminent domain.
- Conrad Anderson IV, Greg Cook and Will Hill Tankersley, partners in Balch’s Birmingham office and members of the Litigation Practice, presented an update on municipal courts and judicial immunity.
- Ed Haden, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Appellate Practice, presented on top federal appellate court developments, with a focus on pending cases on municipal court bail and collection practices.
- James Bradford, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, shared a primer on eminent domain, specifically as it relates to municipalities.
The Alabama League of Municipalities is a non-partisan membership association of nearly 450 incorporated cities and towns. League members have access to programming and training specific to the needs of a municipality.
