Alex Khoury, Kelly Pate, Martha Thompson & Dorman Walker to Lead Educational Seminar on Sexual Harassment
Balch & Bingham partners Alex Khoury, Kelly Pate, Martha Thompson and Dorman Walker will present an educational seminar on sexual harassment in the workplace for the Alabama Hospital Association on May 2, 2018. The event, sponsored by Balch & Bingham, will discuss a wide-range of topics related to sexual harassment in the workplace, including the legal definition and evolution of sexual harassment, sexual harassment investigation considerations, workplace risk factors and special considerations for hospitals. During the seminar, participants will also have the opportunity to work through an actual harassment case to illustrate the difficulties of responding to a sexual harassment claim and the limits of the law as a response to harassment.
Alex is a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the e-Discovery practice. He advises clients on digital investigations and electronic document management issues.
Kelly is a partner in the firm’s Montgomery office and member of the Labor & Employment Practice. She handles litigation and pre-dispute matters related to employment issues, regularly advises employers on compliance issues, develops policies, and provides training.
Martha is a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice. She has represented hospitals, nursing homes, medical labs, insurers and other companies, and has tried to verdict multiple cases involving employment and medical malpractice issues.
Dorman is a partner in the firm’s Montgomery office and member of the Labor & Employment Practice. He has a proven record in employment law litigation and counsels both private employers and governmental employers.
