Jeff Starling, Jason Tompkins and Jonathan Hoffmann Featured in BBJ Legal Hotspots Series

Jeff Starling, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Labor & Employment Practice, Jason Tompkins, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, and Jonathan Hoffmann, attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, were featured in the Birmingham Business Journal’s series on legal hotspots on May 4, 2018.
 
Jeff Starling discussed the enforcement of non-compete, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure agreements against former employees who leave to work for competitors. Jeff regularly represents employers in employment-related litigation, including business competition disputes involving claims related to trade secrets or non-compete agreements.
 
Jason Tompkins and Jonathan Hoffmann discussed litigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, specifically in industries that are not directly related to consumer finance. The attorneys shared the litigation risk of employers across industries that conduct background checks, and shared the need for companies to ensure compliance with the FCRA.
