Kelly Pate Discussed HR basics for Healthcare at the Medical Group Management Association Alabama Summer Conference
Kelly Pate, partner in the firm’s Montgomery office and member of the Labor & Employment Practice, discussed HR topics related to the healthcare industry at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Alabama 2018 Summer Conference on July 24, 2018. Kelly presented “HR from Start to Finish,” covering a full spectrum of employment matters from interview and hiring practices to discipline and termination. She provided practical advice for employers that ensures legal compliance and minimizes liability. In addition, Kelly presented on the #MeToo movement as it affects employers. The discussion focused on workplace harassment and provided steps for employers to prevent harassment and reduce liability, as well as best practices for handling reports and conducting investigations.
As an employment litigator, Kelly has an active and diverse civil litigation practice in Alabama federal and state courts. She represents a variety of clients in matters including employment and business disputes, and compliance issues. Kelly is a member of the firm’s multi-disciplinary #MeToo task force, advising employers on workplace harassment matters.
