Patrick Everman Elected to American Bar Association Leadership Role

Patrick Everman, attorney in the firm’s Jackson office and member of the Corporate and Litigation Practices, was elected to serve as District Representative (District 13 – Mississippi) for the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD). Patrick will serve a two-year term, beginning August 4, 2018 and ending in August 2020.

The primary role of a District Representative is to serve as a leader and conduit for communication between the ABA Young Lawyers Division and the state and local affiliate chapters of Mississippi’s Young Lawyers Division. Patrick will also play a major role in the planning and development of ABA YLD. He will serve on the Board of Directors of the YLD of Mississippi, and will represent the interest of YLD of Mississippi as a voting member at the YLD Council, which meets quarterly meeting at the ABA Annual and Midyear Meetings, as well as the ABA YLD Fall and Spring Conferences. Patrick will also continue to serve as a delegate for Mississippi at the ABA YLD Assembly, which is held semi-annually at ABA Annual and Midyear Meetings. Finally, Patrick will coordinate and lead Disaster Legal Services in cooperation with FEMA following the occurrence of a major disaster

In his legal practice, Patrick focuses on corporate matters, including business and commercial real estate transactions, commercial litigation, government regulatory compliance, and labor and employment defense. He currently represents both large and small entities, including hydrocarbon storage facilities, information technology companies, commercial contractors, and state and federal agencies. Prior to joining Balch, Patrick gained substantial experience in real estate and title issues and built a strong working knowledge of all types of chancery and probate matters.
