“We are proud to join the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in recognizing Ricky’s outstanding contributions to his community. Ricky's commitment to service, both within our communities and in his legal practice, sets the standard for attorneys across our firm's footprint,” said M. Stanford Blanton, managing partner at Balch & Bingham. “We are grateful for the Chamber’s commitment to highlighting the positive work that Ricky and many other community leaders are doing to help make southern Mississippi an even better place to live and work.”

The One Coast Awards are distributed by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Hancock Chamber of Commerce and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. The recognition aims to highlight community members who support and advance the area’s commitment to promoting the common good, in line with its belief that “common interests far outweigh any difference.”

A three-time nominee for the One Coast Community Leader recognition, Ricky’s involvement in the community spans a variety of causes and initiatives. He currently serves as Commissioner of the Coast Transit Authority (CTA) and a board member at Habitat for Humanity for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Previously, Ricky sat on the board at the United Way of South Mississippi and served on the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk and Heart Ball.

In his legal practice, Ricky represents utilities in a wide range of commercial matters, focusing primarily on energy regulation and rate proceedings, energy and utility litigation and energy project development and transactions, including renewable energy project development and sales agreements.

Ricky’s deep experience in energy law has earned him recognition by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers for his work in Energy & Natural Resources in Mississippi. Within the Mississippi business community, Ricky was a member of the Leadership Mississippi (2015) and Leadership Gulf Coast (2002) classes, and was recognized as a Top 10 Business Leader by the Journal of South Mississippi Business and a Mississippi Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 honoree.
