Steven Burns Led Environmental Law Conference with Air & Waste Management Association

Steven Burns, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Environmental & Natural Resources Practice, led the annual conference of the Southern Section of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) September 25 – 28, 2018 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Steven presented a session on coal combustion residual (CCR) matters, including emerging case law and key environmental regulations. He also moderated two panel discussions, including an update from leaders of environmental agencies of the four states.

Steven led the team which organized the annual conference for A&WMA members and environmental professionals. He chairs the Alabama chapter of A&WMA, which hosted this year’s meeting for the association’s members in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Steven advises clients on coal ash, waste and contamination, waterways, wildlife management, air and water quality, and natural resources. He is the lead contributor of @CCR_Source, a resource on Twitter for coal combustion residuals and coal ash news.
