Balch & Bingham is pleased to welcome six new associates to several of the firm’s offices located throughout the Southeast. These attorneys will work across the firm’s nationally recognized Banking & Financial Services, Environmental & Natural Resources and Litigation Practices.
Aria joins the Montgomery office as a member of the Litigation Practice. Aria earned her J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where she won the Best Brief Award in the John W. Davis Moot Court Competition and clerked for the Honorable G. Steven Agee, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. Upon graduation, Aria received the Frederic L. Kirgis, Jr., International Law Award for excellence in international law. Before joining Balch, she clerked for the Honorable Callie V.S. Granade, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama, and the Honorable Joel F. Dubina, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
Robert joins the Birmingham office as a member of the Litigation Practice. He earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. Before joining Balch, Robert served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ed Carnes, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Sloane joins the Birmingham office as a member of the Litigation Practice. Sloane earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law where she served as the Special Works Editor for the Alabama Law Review. Sloane was named the 2017 John A. Campbell Moot Court Competition’s “Most Outstanding Appellate Advocate,” was a Hugo L. Black Scholar, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Jena joins the Atlanta office as a member of the Litigation Practice. Jena earned her J.D. from Mercer University School of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Barristers Honor Society, winner of the 2016 Hugh Lawson III Moot Court Competition, winner of the 2018 American Bar Association Boston Regional Moot Court Competition and recognized as fourth best oralist in the 2018 American Bar Association National Moot Court Competition.
Susan joins the Gulfport office as a member of the Environmental & Natural Resources Practice. Susan earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School where she completed a certificate program in Water Resources Law, served as Articles Editor for the Vermont Law Review, and worked as a Dean’s Fellow teaching Legal Writing I.
