Jonathan Hoffmann, attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Consumer Finance Practice, recently moderated a panel discussion entitled “The Evolving Definition of an Automatic Telephone Dialing System Under the TCPA” for the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation.
The program provided attendees additional insight into how courts have approached the definition of an “automatic telephone dialing system” (ATDS)—a key component of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in the months following the D.C. Circuit’s opinion in ACA International v. FCC. Additionally, the panel highlighted ongoing FCC actions that may impact the definition of an ATDS and other issues under the TCPA.
