Balch & Bingham’s Greg Cook Authors Class Action Strategy & Practice Guide
Balch & Bingham Partner, Gregory C. Cook, chair of the firm’s Commercial and Class Action Practice recently co-authored and edited the American Bar Association’s Class Action Strategy and Practice Guide, an essential practice guide for lawyers, judges, advocates and decision makers at every level. Balch’s Steven Corhern, attorney in the Litigation Practice, and Jason Tompkins, partner in the Commercial and Class Action Practice also contributed to the guide by authoring chapters.
The Class Action Strategy and Practice Guide offers practical guidance to lawyers on how to conduct a class action. It also provides balance by including both the plaintiff and defense perspective on key decisions during the class action battle. The book includes insightful information that is applicable throughout the class action process, beginning with critical steps before the filing of the action and ending with settlement decisions and mechanisms.
“Class actions are becoming larger and more complex, and can turn a lawyer’s normal instincts on their head. This book is a unique opportunity to understand what motivates each decision for both sides in these ‘bet the company’ cases.” said Greg.
Greg focuses his practice on financial services litigation, including complex commercial litigation and class actions. His work with financial institutions ranges from class actions to routine banking litigation.
