Stephen McKitt, attorney in the Birmingham office and member of the Creditors Rights and Bankruptcy Practice, recently joined The University of Alabama at Birmingham for a panel presentation for pre-law students in the university’s Honors College.
The presentation, on April 21, 2021, addressed a variety of important topics pertaining to students as they prepare to pursue a career in law. Stephen and fellow panelists spoke to the importance of selecting the right law school, shared law school application and interview tips, discussed the transition from undergraduate studies to law school, gave insights into helpful study habits and explored the different paths that can be taken in the field of law.
Stephen’s practice often involves both complex litigation and transactional work in bankruptcy cases. He represents a variety utility companies and ﬁnancial institutions. Prior to joining Balch, Stephen worked for the Department of Justice as a trial attorney and as an in-house attorney at one of the world's largest banks.
