Balch & Bingham Welcomes Public Policy & Government Relations Partner Aaron Gregg to Austin

Balch & Bingham is pleased to welcome Aaron Gregg to the Public Policy and Government Relations Practice in Austin, Texas.  

Aaron, who joins the firm as a partner, is an attorney and lobbyist with demonstrated success working on matters before the Texas Legislature and executive agencies on behalf of corporations, non-profits and trade associations.

“Aaron’s experience, long-standing relationships in Texas, respect by his peers and clients and accomplishments are impressive and will add value to our practice, while also enhancing our ability to serve as strategic partners to our clients as we continue our Texas expansion.” said Stan Blanton, managing partner. 

Aaron counsels businesses on compliance issues related to a wide variety of legislative policy areas, including state appropriations, public education, energy, economic development, tax, health care, technology and media, privacy, criminal justice, and disability rights, among others. His background includes working in the Texas Capitol working for a wide range of members from different backgrounds and areas of the state. Additionally, he previously served as chief of staff to former Texas House Appropriations Chairman Jim Pitts.

While working for Chairman Pitts, Aaron spearheaded the passage of important legislation related to the electric grid, public education and additional key policy areas. He successfully managed multiple legislative stakeholder coalitions and played a key role in the development of the $200 billion biennial state budget, gaining valuable experience on a wide range of appropriations matters.

A Texas native, Aaron earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor of Negotiation and is the co-founder and editor of the Texas Legislative Law Handbook.

The firm announced its expansion into Austin in June 2021, with the addition of Energy Partner Todd Kimbrough, followed by the addition of Environmental and Natural Resources Partner, Bryan Moore in August 2021. The Austin office marks the firm's second Texas location and 11th office nationwide.
