Shalyn McKitt Appointed as At-Large Member of the DRI Foundation

Balch & Bingham’s Shalyn McKitt, attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, has been appointed At-Large Member of the DRI Foundation and will serve a two year term. DRI is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Membership in DRI provides access to resources and tools for attorneys who strive to provide high-quality, balanced and excellent service to their clients and corporations. DRI is host to 29 substantive committees whose focus is to develop ongoing and critical dialogue about areas of practice.

The DRI Foundation is committed to supporting DRI members, their communities, and the cities where DRI holds seminars and other events.  Proceeds raised by the DRI Foundation go directly to funding and fostering initiatives that make a difference.  The DRI Foundation is supported by and promotes the work of its volunteer-led committees, including DRI Cares and DRI For Life.

Shalyn McKitt is an experienced litigator with a diverse background representing clients in health law, employment law, governmental affairs and administrative law and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining Balch, Shalyn served as assistant attorney general for the State of Ohio in the Health and Human Services Section, assistant regional counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Region VI and senior legal counsel for a healthcare technology company. She gained extensive courtroom experience with complex healthcare issues during her tenure with the government.
