Kelsi Long Presents at Entrepreneurship Camp Hosted by IGNITE!

Kelsi Long, attorney in the Birmingham office and member of the Energy Transactions & Acquisitions Practice, presented at the Entrepreneurship Camp hosted by IGNITE! on July 23, 2023, in Birmingham.

Kelsi’s presentation gave an overview of different formation types. Balch’s participation is in connection to the Balch Business Boost program, an initiative launched in December 2020 to support entrepreneurs of color and/or women-owned businesses by providing free or low-cost legal services.

IGNITE! is a holistic and supportive ecosystem designed to educate and bridge communication gaps between organizations, service providers, and minorities within Alabama, especially African Americans and female business owners.  

Balch Business Boost leverages the experience and talents of Balch attorneys to help emerging and small business owners in several markets across the U.S. as they navigate legal and entrepreneurial challenges to building and sustaining success. The program gives Balch attorneys the opportunity to employ their creative and collaborative approach in a manner that gives back to the community, and empowers talented individuals.

Kelsi’s practice focuses on transactional matters involving corporate and securities, data privacy and security, and energy issues. She routinely advises clients on corporate formation, strategic acquisitions and data privacy laws, and guides clients through due diligence and contract negotiations. Kelsi works closely with clients' legal and business teams, supporting day-to-day commercial agreements and assisting to navigate the data privacy and security regulatory landscape. 

Kelsi is a member of Alabama Leadership Initiative, a program designed to complement Leadership Alabama’s existing leadership network and programming, and she is also a fellow of the Blackburn Institute, a leadership development and civic engagement program specifically focused on improving the state of Alabama.
