  • What types of clients do you represent?

    For almost 20 years, I have had the privilege to represent both sides of the insurance bar. My clients include commercial insurers and policyholders, including manufacturers, utilities, medical service providers, banks, and other businesses.

  • What type of matters do you work on most often?
  • What do you see on the horizon in your area of practice?
  • Insurance cost recovery: Lead counsel for manufacturer client in successfully overturning biased appraisal award and obtaining $11 million verdict in jury trial involving contingent business interruption coverage.
  • Insurance cost recovery: Represented insured in obtaining $89 million recovery under commercial property policy for property damage and business interruption losses arising from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, tornadoes.
  • Coverage/extra-contractual litigation: Represent general liability insurer in coverage and bad faith litigation seeking additional insured coverage.
  • Business litigation: Represented insurance company in obtaining defense verdict in action by executive alleging breach of stock option agreements.
  • Business litigation: Obtained defense verdict for bank in breach of contract and conversion action alleging amounts unlawfully withdrawn from account due to identity theft. 
  • Business litigation: represented a manufacturing client in overturning a biased appraisal award and then obtaining a jury verdict for its contingent business interruption losses which arose from property damage at an oil refinery’s facilities in international waters.
  • Insurance recovery: Represented dissolved corporation in managing insurance issues arising from more than 2,000 asbestos claims.
  • EPA enforcement litigation: Represented utilities in defending against claims brought by the United States Department of Justice on behalf of EPA under New Source Review provisions of the CAA.
  • Citizen suit defense: Representing utility in defending citizens’ suit under CAA in New Hampshire Federal District Court. 
  • Citizen suit defense: Represented utility intervenor in successfully opposing citizens’ mandamus proceeding under CWA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) in First Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Common law environmental: Represented utility service company in obtaining voluntary dismissal of personal injury lawsuits alleging air, soil, and groundwater contamination.
