Balch & Bingham LLP was founded in 1922 as an energy law boutique. Since that time, the firm has grown to approximately 225 attorneys, with a national practice in the Energy and Environmental fields. The firm now has over 60 full time Energy and Environmental attorneys. With very limited exception, each of our Energy and Environmental attorneys are actively engaged in advising clients on a day to day basis on different aspects of climate change and sustainability issues and opportunities.

The firm’s Climate Change and Smart Sustainability (“CC&SS”) practice group is a cross-functional collection of specialists from across the firm’s different substantive practice areas and offices. Our CC&SS teams have been created and are organized to enable Balch & Bingham to provide one stop, full service counseling and representation to our clients (new and existing) with respect to the regulatory obligations and market opportunities and challenges presented by climate change and public policies favoring energy independence, efficiency, demand response, alternative and renewable energy, energy storage, micro generation, smart grid, and other sustainability initiatives.
