About Alan
Q&A
  • What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?

I often draw on my time as a law clerk in my practice. When faced with a complex issue, I recall the conversations I had with Judge Bowen, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Georgia, and consider how he would respond to or rule on that particular issue.  This insight has proven valuable in litigation. In addition, in a legal environment where litigation is growing increasingly contentious and hostile, I try to emulate Judge Bowen's professionalism and graciousness in representing my clients.

  • What legal challenges are you looking forward to tackling in the future?

I joined Balch & Bingham because of its reputation for having excellent litigation and trial attorneys and for the opportunity to develop "real" litigation experience.  I have been given much responsibility in a variety of cases and have embraced this opportunity to take ownership of my cases.  I look forward to shouldering an even greater role in managing my cases and participating in case strategy.

  • What do you find most exciting about your work?
