ED ALLEN is Of Counsel in the litigation and labor and employment sections. He is engaged primarily in commercial litigation, including public utility, contract, civil rights and real property matters. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in Business Litigation.
Ed's subject matter areas of expertise include eminent domain, water rights, real property and election law. His eminent domain practice has been primarily on behalf of condemning authorities for public utility, educational and highway projects. Ed has represented Alabama Power Company in intrastate and interstate water issues in litigation involving the State of Alabama and neighboring states and the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Ed has held the position of legal counsel to the Alabama Republican Party continuously since 1973, serving on the Party's Steering Committee and representing the Republican Party and its candidates in election law matters. He is active in St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, having served it also as legal counsel and in litigation involving church real estate.
