T. JOSHUA R. ARCHER is the Managing Partner in Balch & Bingham's Atlanta office. Mr. Archer is an experienced trial lawyer and has presented many cases to juries, arbitrators and appellate courts. His practice areas include Government Litigation; Products Liability; Commercial Litigation, Healthcare Litigation and Government Affairs. Since joining Balch & Bingham's predecessor Meadows, Ichter & Bowers in Atlanta in January 1999, Mr. Archer has represented and counseled clients on issues involving local and state government, including license disputes, constitutional challenges to statutory schemes, and administrative disputes. Archer also has a substantial commercial practice.
Josh has represented healthcare providers before the Georgia Department of Community Health and the Georgia courts on issues regarding Certificates of Need ("CON"). He represents clients on all facets of the CON procedure, from planning a health care facility to preparing a CON application and prosecuting the application through the administrative bodies and the courts. In addition, Josh has represented institutions and doctors on privileges issues.
From August 1994 to September 1996, Mr. Archer clerked for the Honorable Alex T. Howard, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. Josh was a litigation associate on the toxic tort team at King & Spalding from 1996 to 1999.
Josh and his wife, Liz, live with their son, Jacob, and their daughter, Isabel, in Atlanta.
