Q&A
  • What do you find most exciting about your work?

Estate planning may seem focused on numbers and the law, but really it is about people and their families. I love getting to know clients and learning about their lives, their life's work, and their hopes for their children and grandchildren.

  • What do you see on the horizon in your area of practice?

Currently in estate planning, the reduction of the gift and estate exemptions that is scheduled to take place on January 1, 2026 is a highly discussed topic. We spend a lot of time counseling our clients about how best to use this unique window to maximize the tax efficiency of their estate plans.

  • Represented a husband accused of murder in a slayer case where a stepchild sought to disqualify the husband as a beneficiary of the late wife’s 401(k) and ESOP.
  • Represented family of minor child in significant confidential settlement involving allegations of inappropriate conduct on a school bus; resolved before filing suit; still managing guardianship funds.
